Distillers Grains

E Energy Adams produces both modified wet distillers grain with solubles (MWDGS) and dried distillers grain with solubles (DDGS).

A principal co-product of the ethanol production process is distillers grain. Distillers grain is the non-fermentable component of the corn. Distillers grain is rich in cereal proteins and fat, making it a high protein and high energy feed supplement marketed to the feed industry.

Modified Wet Distillers Grain with Solubles (MWDGS) is 43% dry matter:

  • Minimum Crude Protein 12.0%
  • Minimum Crude Fat 2.2%
  • Maximum Crude Fiber 5.0%
  • Moisture 57.0%

The MWDGS should not be confused with “wet cake” or gluten. The MWDGS handles similar to soybean meal, has a longer shelf life (up to twenty days), and is less costly to transport on a dry matter basis than wet cake.

Dried Distillers Grain with Solubles (DDGS) is 86% dry matter:

  • Minimum Crude Protein 26.0%
  • Minimum Crude Fat 4.75%
  • Maximum Crude Fiber 9.0%
  • Moisture 14.0%

Viterra is marketing only the DDGS for E Energy Adams. Viterra is responsible for pricing, logistics, and accounts receivables. For purchasing inquiries for DDGS contact: Ryan Eckstein at 402-889-4384.
